The 2027 Fixture… so far

Written by Marcus Guarnera

Carlton will face off against Richmond to kickoff the AFL season in Round one, after the removal of opening round by the AFL. The fixture will not take place on its usual Thursday night primetime slot, as it will take place the next day on Friday the 19th of March. This is due to the MCG hosting the 150th anniversary cricket Test match between Australia and England on the Thursday.

Carlton will begin their season with two away games as Richmond will host the round one clash before Carlton face North Melbourne in round two. This will come in the annual Good Friday appeal game as North Melbourne have requested to the AFL to face Carlton for the fifth year in a row.

Blue Abroad can also confirm that Carlton will host six of their home games at the MCG and the other five at Marvel Stadium. This comes as Carlton have requested an extra home game at the MCG from the AFL.

Carlton have also asked for their interstate games to be better separated through out next season. Last season, Carlton travelled interstate five times, across the opening 11 rounds of the season. This included a trip to Sydney for opening round, and Adelaide to face the Crows on prime time during gather round.
