Carlton officially announce the departure of adam saad
Written by Marcus Guarnera
Carlton have officially announced that Adam Saad will leave the club after six seasons and 110 games with the club. This comes as Saad only played in three games for Carlton last season.
Carlton will delist Saad as he has become unneeded for the Blues the course of last season. Ollie Florent took over his role at Carlton last season after coming from Sydney during last summers trade period.
The emergence of Billy Wilson in the second half of the season under Josh Fraser gave the Blues added ball carrying ability off half-back which also got rid of a need for Adam Saad. Especially after Carlton picked up Lachie Whitfield from GWS.
The addition of Whitfield with Florent and Wilson gives plenty of depth at half-back with Ollie Hollands, Nic Newman and Adam Cerra who can all come into the side. Saad is now past his prime at 32-years-old which could have contributed to Carlton deciding to delist him with one year left on his contract.
